CHAMP: Where getting ready to drop the album titled Gangsta Grillz:2. How do you feel about the anticipation towards the album so far?

DJ Drama: I feel good man. Excited. The second album and it’s an exciting feeling. The reviews have been positive and the feedback has been great.

CHAMP: You of course come with a  star studded cast when it comes to Gangsta Grillz editions. Who do we got on this album?

DJ Drama: We got Akon, Snoop, T.I, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Willie the Kid, The-Dream, Gucci Mane, Trey Songz, Bun B, Flo-Rida, Nas, Marsha Ambrosis, Young Dro, OJ Da Juiceman, Yo Gotti, Juvenile, Rick Ross, Trick Daddy, Mike Jones.

CHAMP: Got you. So you working with a huge album budget on this?! How’s the relationship with some of these artists that get on the album?

DJ Drama: You know it’s a major label debut so we definitely worked to get a lot of these artists to be part of the movement.

CHAMP: Now I can assume that Don Cannon’s gonna have some production on there. Did you produce any joints on this as well?

DJ Drama: I got Hitmen, DJ Premier, Drumma Boy, Zaytoven and I got some of my producers.

CHAMP: Is there anything you did different on this album opposed to the first Gangsta Grillz?

DJ Drama: This was a little bit shorter. I just kept it more compact.

CHAMP: Was there a certain message you wanted to send with this album, that the listeners can take away after hearing this album?

DJ Drama: I just wanna make positive hip hop music and keep the culture alive, and keep the movement moving.

CHAMP: Daydreaming is the single of the album. What joint do we got on the follow up?

DJ Drama:  A song called Ridiculous Yo Gotti & Ronnie Mack

CHAMP: Last year there was an issue with Young Jeezy. You and Tip wanted to squash that whole situation the last I heard. At this moment where do you guys stand in the situation with Young Jeezy?

DJ Drama: Jeezy’s doing his thing and I’m doing my thing.

CHAMP: In recent news there’s been a situation in regards to a Cash Money lawsuit. It appears it’s an issue where it’s beyond Lil Waynes control –

DJ Drama: As it is beyond my control so it ain’t nothing man I’m out here working

CHAMP: As a big name DJ, people say a lot of successful DJs neglect the actual art of DJing. What are your thoughts and views on the “DJ” these days?

DJ Drama: Come see me at a party and then come with that. I think if you put the letters D & J in front of your name, you need to live up to that. I live up to that everyday.

CHAMP: Got you. Also just to clarify, is Asher Roth part of the team as well or we’re you just cosigning him?

DJ Drama: Naaah. I just gave him my cosign.

CHAMP: Did you have any input on his current album that’s out?

DJ Drama:Uh uh

CHAMP: On the The Apphiliates we got LA the Darkman and of course the homey Willie the Kid just to name a few on the team. What can we expect from the team this year?

DJ Drama: Ah man nothing but greatness

CHAMP: In recent news it appears Alfamega has been kicked out of Grand Hustle. What are your thoughts and views on the whole situation?

DJ Drama: I mean, that was a decision T.I made with Grand Hustle being his company. I support him in that decision.

CHAMP: You’re scheduled to be in Toronto in a few weeks. What else can we expect from DJ Drama throughout the year aside from the album?

DJ Drama: I can’t wait to come to Toronto man. We definitely gon’ shut it down. I’m on a crazy promo tour right now throughout the states. I’m going on an international promo tour and doing it up like always.
