Tizzle and Streetz Interview Champ: What’s going on man? Tizzle n Streetz: What’s going’ on, what’s going on, what’s going’ on man it’s ya boys Tizzle and Streetz. C: Hey man we here in Canada we just chilling. Weather is getting’ better, Where you guys at? T n S: We out in Phoenix, Arizona right now know what I’m saying, we just finished up the album know what I’m saying’ it’s finished, it’s ready know what I’m saying, it’s official. Ya digggg C: Who do we got featured on that album right there? T n S: You see this is the first album we taking mainstream. For this album we specifically kept it Tizzle and Streetz know what I’m saying we gon save all the features for the next album. This the one we wanted the world to hear us and to hear where we coming’ from then next gon get more features next time but for this one it’s just Tizzle and Streetz ALL DAY...Yaaa diiigggg!!!!!!!!!!!!! C: YAAAA DDDIIIIIGGGG!!!!! LOL ... Now Tizzle and Streetz, you guys are coming’ from two areas Gary, Indiana and..... T n S: We coming’ from Chicago, we both from Chicago Southside but we from two different hoods or whatever two different sides and you know what I’m saying we both moved out to Gary, Indiana it’s still in the Midwest we ended up linking up and ended up doing what we do, doing shows and working off the album so we came out here then we talking to ya’ll! C: No doubt, no doubt. Now Chicago has some wild niggas out there, one of you guys is from the wild hundreds. T n S: Yes sir it’s ya boy Tizzle representing the wild wild hundreds know what I’m saying’ hun forty seventh, 147 and to all my niggas in Dalton we getting it in. C: No doubt, no doubt. Now Chicago and Gary, Indiana Are they similar or do they have their slight differences. T n S: Man, it’s real similar but it’s also different. Chicago is more open and police are more lenient with the kid ya dig, I mean ye it’s pretty much the same niggas still out there grinding getting cake u feel me? Doing the same thing it’s basically the Midwest feel. I mean we got niggas out here showing us love. We got Chicago holding us down. I mean we got the best in both worlds know what I’m saying? It’s a Midwest movement right now. C: No doubt, now you guys are young, 20 years old. How do you feel about the competition like Bow Wow and Sean Kingston and young guys like yourselves, I want you to tell us the difference in your styles and influences and all that. What do you have to offer that they haven’t offered and vice versa. T n S: I mean hey, Bow Wow, Sean Kingston they real niggas they doing they thing representing Miami, representing Jamaicans. Bow Wow he doing his thing too, but man Tizzle and Streetz got real lyrics, we real hood niggas you know what I’m saying we be getting it in you know what I’m saying we represent the block. We from the hood you feel me so I mean, our influences are mostly like Jeezy, Jay-z you know what I saying real lyricism. Nas doing they thing, but that’s our influences man our music is real different. Its original man we write all of our lyrics, we got good producers they doing their thing on the album. When you hear the album it speaks for itself. It’s bananas B-A-N-A-N-A-S, you feel me? C: Now what projects are you guys currently working on at the moment? T n S: Man we got a listening party going down in Phoenix, then another listening party in L.A., Chicago we coming’ back home right after that, On April the 23rd we gonna be doing our thing, The album will be released May 5th, be looking out for the video on BET, MTV, all the outlets, Leanin’ To The Side Man...When you hear this single its bananas, the beat is crazy, straight club joint; it’s a feel good record. All our songs are just classic, that’s the difference between a lot of these cats, we put a lot of time and a lot of hard work into our music and we came from the slums, we came from having nothing to coming into something you feel me. You can really tell the difference in the music it’s not like it was nothing that was put together man. This is straight original, straight from the heart, this is we speaking on things that we done went throughyou feel me? C: No doubt, no doubt, Now the single leanin’ to the side will be out there you said on all major outlets, BET, MTV hopefully up in Canada Much Music, Now ya’ll need some promotional tours and all that, you guys got anything coming’ up tour wise? T n S: Yeah, we got some shows actually setting’ up in LA, we gonna go more out that way we working towards Las Vegas too you feel me, and hopefully get out there to Canada know what I’m saying’ we tryna do whatever, we trying to do whatever’s cracking we tryna be there Tizzle and Streetz is wherever feel me? We tryna get as much shows as we can. Tryna get it happening’ and just to let you know HIP HOP IS ALIVE! It ain't dead trust me HIP HOP IS DEFINITLY ALIVE! C: How do you feel about that statement? It’s a strong statement HIP HOP IS DEAD, people been saying that and your hearing the futuristic sounds in hip hop do you see it just drifting towards a new sound that people are saying the old sound is dead? What does that mean to you guys when people make that statement HIP HOP IS DEAD? T n S: I mean, it’s been doing its thing ever since it started and it’s only gonna get better, but just like anything else you got the other half that’s messed up, not everything is gonna be perfect, you ain’t gonna have just perfect MCs. But that’s how you get opportunity, that’s how you make way for other people to show there shine and show their talent. Cuz it’s gonna take weak beats, and it’s gonna take wack MCs to be in play in order for the next person to step up and be better. Its competition but its friendly competition it’s about the sales, it’s about what you can do and to me its personal than that, it’s not about just sales to me cuz you could make sales off the little one hit wonders but I’m the type that, you gotta put depth into your music. Your music gotta be real type music. If you ain’t spitting no real stuff to me, I don’t care how many ringtones you got, how many things you sold, it’s still wack if it ain’t real hip hop. And that’s just real know what I’m saying? I could sell call it what it is but we work hard for our music. It’s like any other artist would do, make things happen, craft your work like an artist paints a picture, you put your all into it so it’s like you gonna go hard for it, so for people to make a statement like it’s not it, naw its just in need of help but don’t worry about all that you got the lifesavers on the way we coming, you can hear the sirens coming we swerving we ain’t gonna let it go....NAH...a lot of people are poisoning the game but we got the cure. C: That’s it the potion nah mean. T n S: You feel me, true story. When people hear people gon know ok. People are gonna turn their radio back on they not gonna have there cd players there gonna turn their radio back on like “turn the radio on Tizzle and Streetz might get played” you feel me? True story we going for the record most radio spins in the country you diiggg? C: I DUG (LOL) now the album is coming out in May, tell us when the album is coming out. T n S: It’s gonna be May 5th my dude, Its titled the come up, Tizzle and Streetz man we bout to go head and hit the industry up, show 'em how to work with it cuz a lot of cats man is taking this industry for granted like you got the big heads Jay-z man they think it’s dying it’s like to you. They proving all these older cats right! It’s us young cats and if they putting out that garbage it would never be the same. People are gonna stop listening to hip hop now. They gon start listening to another genre of music but we not here to do that, we here to breathe life back into it and keep it alive you dig? C: That’s what me and my partner was actually talking about. You know how in sports you have a retirement cap, when you hit like 40 and you can’t play no more. You think they should have something like that in hip hop? T n S: Man I mean in some sense yeah, there are a couple of cats man that need to give it up, I ain’t gon say no names but you know what I gotta agree to disagree too cuz my dude Scarface he representing for the south man he a old head but he doing his thing OG in the game but he still, every time he come out he come out proper. UGK RIP Pimp C but he been doing his thing UGK man for life they doing they thing the old and I grew up listening to them. I grew up listening to Scarface but I mean some cats need to give it up. C: That’s true; they need to go to the executive part of the game now. T n S: Exactly, own a record label produce some other cats and give us our time to shine but a lot of older cats paved the way they gave us this chance and I’m grateful to a lot of the older cats in the hip hop game. So we gotta show much respect to them. C: No doubt, no doubt. The come-up May 5th, after that what do we got planned for Tizzle and Streetz? T n S: Man I mean as soon as it hits the radio stations, and the video is all on BET, MTV I mean I know we all gon do our thing man and we gon get it in. New album man, we definitely got plans to do collaborations with a lot of the Midwest artists Twista, Shawna, R. Kelly I mean we show love to the whole United States dawg. Down south, west coast we get love everywhere. It is what it is man Tizzle and Streetz is here and we here to stay. C: That’s it man Tizzle and Streetz for the 09. We bout to wrap this up; tell the people where they can find your music. T n S: Ya’ll can find Tizzle and Streetz music on iTunes, Rhapsody, on any digital outlet I’m talking ringtones any cell phone you can get it you dig so check out the iTunes and the Rhapsody , Yahoo Music, anywhere you can get a music download from our a ringtone Tizzle and Streetz is there you Dig! It don’t matter and I tell all the Dj’s play the record and watch what happens. Let it play and it speaks for itself you dig! If the DJ knows what’s good, they gon spin that track.
