Keril Hilson – In A Perfect World Review
Nathan “The Boy Hollywood” Adom
2/5

Intro

Keri Hilson basically introduces herself on this track and kinda raised my eyebrow when she stated she’s rollin with killas. It’s an okay intro.

Turning Me On ft. Lil Wayne

Of course we all know the joint. Real dope club banger. Keri simply telling homies what turns her off and on. Take notes fellas. Assisted by Lil Wayne on this joint. Personally think this is the best joint on the album.

Set Your Money Up ft. Keyshia Cole & Trina

Another club banger potential. Like the unity on this joint ‘cause it’s looking like all female rappers got an issue with each other. But these three ladies are tryina tell the fellas to get that cake up. Track’s alright.

Return The Favor ft. Timbaland

Not feeling this joint. The beats got the futuristic sound but ain’t really my cup of tea, but the Euro heads’ll probably feel this. Keris promises to misbehave and Timbaland ensures he will return the favor.

Knock You Down ft. Kanye West & Ne-Yo

Track’s not too bad. “Kanye to the’s” on this joint. Not too sure if it’s produced by him. Ne-Yo’s also on this joint. It’s got that south feel to it. Keri simply states that love comes around and knocks you down and all you gotta do is get back up.

Slow Dance

This is that “sexy” music! A real slow joint. Beat’s ok. Keri’s talking about something happening whenever her and her partner slow dance. Kinda sounds like the I Promise joint by Ciara.

Make Love

Keri continues to slow it down here and passionately talks about the art of making love. The ladies will feel this one. Not really feeling this joint.

Intuition

This got an East Indian vibe to it. I’m assuming Timbaland may have produced this since Keri’s under his wing and he notoriously samples a lot of Indian music. The track’s alright.
How Does It Feel

This has that Hero by Nas Drum pattern. I’m assuming this was produced by Polow. Not really feeling this joint. Keri seems to be punking a dude and plans to do her own thing on this track.

Alienated

Keri seems to missing someone real bad on this joint to the point where she won’t even change her number in hopes that a dude will call back one day. If the dudes hearing this you might wanna give her a call back. Not feeling this track but people who can relate to this will probably like it.

Tell Him the Truth

All my fellas who’ve been told some bad news such as the break up, or “I’ve cheated” by a shorty, this track let’s you know the shorties mental process before hitting you with the news. I think it’s safe to say that a dude will respect that you were straight up, but will still be mad as hell at you for the bad news no matter what. Track’s not really my cup of tea either.

Change Me ft. Akon

Akon and Keriiiiiiii (in Akon fashion). Tracks not huge still. Akon and Keri don’t want to be changed in their relationships. Akon sounds dead passionate on his verse. Kinda sounds funny. Let’s keep it moving.

Energy

Didn’t like this joint when it came out, but the video had me saying Daaaaaaamn”. Keri makes female boxing look real sexy. She clearly states the relationship she’s in is taking all of her energy.

Where Did He Go

Keri Hilson’s missing someone on this joint, and trying to find the whereabouts of this dude. Could this be the same dude from the Alienated joint? Not really liking this track though.
