R.O.O.T.S Review – Flo Rida
The Boy Hollywood
CHAMP MAGAZINE
2/5

Finally Here

I’m liking this intro. Very motivational as Flo Rida speaks on the days before the fame when life was a struggle but now the homeboy has finally made it and is finally in the game.

Jump ft. Nelly Furtado

Real commercial joint. It’s to see the Canuck Nelly on this joint. Definitely gonna be a single off the album. Not really my cup of tea though.

Gotta Get It

This got this mid 90’s randb dance feel mixed with some futuristic synths feel to it. Not feeling this joint. Has potential to be a club joint though.

Shone ft. Pleasure P

This joints ok. I’m not too sure what the hell a Shone is but Flo Rida wants his shorties to be his shone. Pleasure P sings “Could you be my Ac-Shone (Action)”.

Right Round

Definitely an annoying track and remake of that old school joint. This is obviously the single off the album. I personally don’t think this track is hot at all.

R.O.O.T.S

This is the album titled joint. Flo Rida brings talks about his roots in terms of where he came from. Not feeling this track either.

Be On You ft. Ne-Yo

This is for the ladies of course. Where Ne-Yo and Flo Rida wanna be on their shorties. This tracks ok.

Mind On My Money

Flo Rida’s mind’s on his paper on this joint. Mean bass guitar cruising smooth on this track but I still don’t like this joint.

Available ft. Akon

This has single potential. This joint’s not bad at all. The beginning had me ready to switch to the next track, but the guitar samples huge. This has the 09 Summer splattered all over this joint. I like this. It’s about dudes who are available and able to get with shorties. Big Track.

Touch Me

This joint is about hands exploring both male and female counterparts. Not really feeling this joint.

Never

Flo Rida tells you about the “nevers” in life. I’m feeling the lyrics but not the production.

Sugar ft. Wynter

Flo Rida samples the “I’m Blue” Euro joint at the top of the track. Fast paced joint. Not feeling this.

Rewind ft. Wyclef

Produced by The Inkredibles. This joint is going back in time and trying to correct mistakes made in the past. Don’t like this joint either.
