Cali Snipes: Whats good, im here man...im getting my things in order. The single "Money to Burn" is out right now I just finished shooting the video that should be out early in the New Year! My main focus right now is to get "New Era" the cd out!
CHAMP: NO DOUBT NO DOUBT. NOW YOU MESSING WIT ARISTO, LITTLES AND TEAM OFFENSE. HOW DID YOU LINK UP WIT THEM?
Cali Snipes: I've been linking with Aristo and Littles before music. As far as The Offense goes, I am one of the original members...I've been here man, now I’m just getting myself together, that's why you see me now.
CHAMP: NOW YOU AINT REALLY A NEW COMER HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN RAPPIN ON A SERIOUS NOTE?
Cali Snipes: On a serious note I would say about 3 to 4 years now but ever since I could remember I've always been involved with hip hop.
CHAMP: NOW COMING FROM THE STREETS OF JANE AND FINCH WHICH IS ONE OF MEGA CITY'S NOTORIOUS AREA. TELL ME SOME OF THE EXPERIENCES YOU HAD THAT MADE WANT TO SHIFT YOUR FOCUS TO MUSIC?
Cali Snipes: I've seen a lot. I've seen the ones I grew up with from birth either locked up for years or passed away before their time. These were things in my surroundings that I experienced daily. There is so much more, I can go on for days. Everything that I went through growing up is my motivation and the reason why I do my music. Listen and you can hear where I’m going with the music. Many people look at me as an example or a voice to show that there is greatness where we come from.
CHAMP: NO DOUBT NO DOUBT. NOW U GOT THE SINGLE "MONEY 2 BURN AKA PRIME MINISTERS" WITH MY FAVORITE PRODUCER OUTSIDE MY IN HOUSE PRODUCERS RICH KIDD. TELL US ABOUT THAT SINGLE?
Cali Snipes: For real, shout to Rich Kidd every time. Well, the track originally was a Watts production but due to lack of communication at the time, it never happened. So one day me and Aristo was on the phone listening to a Rich Kidd beats cd. Aristo played me the *Money 2 Burn* beat and he was like “Yo, you should try the prime minister joint over this beat”. The rest is history but I want people to take it in on the real though ‘cause nobody ever broke down the dollar bills like that, people need to pay attention.
CHAMP: OK OK, NOW YOU ALSO DID A SLEW OF SHOWS. TELL US SOME OF THE PEOPLE THAT YOU HAVE OPENED FOR AND YOUR FAVORITE PERFORMANCES YOU DID.
Cali Snipes: Yeah on the real, did a lot of shows: Too short, Juelz Santana, Akon and Gwen Stephani Just to name a few...my favorite performance was the Too Short show I would have to say, we had over 2 thousand people from Van city screaming Toronto, that was crazy!
CHAMP: AIGHT AIGHT, NOW WE GOT NEW ERA ON DECK! TELL US WHO YOU GOT ON THERE FEATURE WISE AND PRODUCER WISE.
Cali Snipes: Well mainly it's just me and my Team. I mainly wanted people to hear me, not necessarily a bunch of features. As far as producers go I got Watts, Rich Kidd, and Veterano.
CHAMP: AND AFTER NEW ERA WHAT DO WE HAVE IN STORE FOR CALI SNIPES?
Cali Snipes: We got the album in the works, so stay tuned for that! Look out for some more videos. More work in the future with Sharp Shooter. I will also be doing some work with Beat Juggernaut…I'm Here! Truss me!
