C-TELL US ABOUT THE PLACE WHERE U GREW UP AND UR UPBRINGING.
N - I was born in Toronto I’m 23 with a sexy three year old son. I moved around a lot because I only lived with my mom and my brothers at the time. Around 11 I moved out to Mississauga when I started living with my mom and dad became one big family. I stayed in school did the high school thing then college .If ya'll never knew my background it's Jamaican. I Grew up in Ridgeway (Ridge Block, 80 block) around the older generation .Ridgeway was block where a lot a G's came from artist's ball players and hustlers like every block. Ridgeway breaded me made me more independent. A lot of things there made me understand the difference between getting money and banking money and friends or foe.
C-WHAT WAS THE DECIDING FACTOR IN YOUR LIFE THAT MADE YOU WANT TO TAKE RAP SERIOUSLY.
N - lol well my nigga Courtney Allen (big up Ridgeway entertainment) use to manage me and our group Rotten Onez but you know I was young at the time and stubborn that I really didn't agree and certain things us a team was doing. It kind of pushed me and him into a spin. But ye that point in my life I was like fuck a manager you know I’m a do my thing I still ask my nigga Courtney for info time to time and help me out . I thought I had a different sound for Toronto rappers me being from the Dot myself.
I started networking in the states and seen that people outside of Canada enjoyed my music so why stop. This was in like grade Ten lol High school "memories"
C-TELL ME SOME OF YOUR INFLUENCES IN THIS GAME.
N - Whoa. that’s hard I listen to a lot of underground music and Canadian hip hop but I’ll tell you what I’m listen to from Canada and the US right now : Canadian - Scorsese , aristo , littles , mason Payne, Richie Sosa , Drake , Rich Kidd , luu breeze that’s not no order and I don't want to go naming off my whole team and niggaz lol but these dudes have talent but this is what I’ve been listening to for the past couple weeks a lot of talent in Canada I would like to work with . US - Wiz Khalifa, young jeezy, young berg, max b, mobb deep some rock and techno I like music
C-THATS WHAT'S UP! NOW WE OBVIOUSLY GOT HISTORY. I WAS INTRODUCED TO THE ROTTEN ONES EARLY IN MY LIFE. I ACTUALLY HEARD ABOUT A GROUP CALLED DIRTY ROTTEN. MY NIGGA BIGGZ HAD THERE CD I SWEAR WE BOUGHT IT LOL BUT YEA LITTLE DO WE KNO ROTTEN GANG AND DIRTY ROTTEN HAVE A CONNECTION. TELL US ABOUT THAT CONNECTION AND THE MEMBERS OF ROTTEN ONES.
N - Well Rotten Onez and Dirty Rotten are basically P.O.M.E all people from the hood if I really broke it down it went like this.
The O.G'z were called Rotten Autonomy , then the older heads were Dirty Rotten , My generation were Rotten Onez , and the younger heads were scrilla fam, all of us family friends all about money and music
Together we were Rotten Gang. Rottenz had Rich Kidd, Gudini, Goddy, Danza and me Nova Kane
We still banging music but everybody doing they own thing repping for the team on the long branch.
C-TRUST ME YA'LL ARE DEFINETLY TALENTED. BUT IT'S ALL ABOUT YOU TODAY. IN ASSOCIATION WITH BEING INVOLVED WITH ROTTEN ONES YOU ARE ALSO APART OF TEAM OFFENCE. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?
N - Yes Team Offense .I want to thank Aristo and Littles for that one. I knew littles from way back that’s my nigga he send me those Triple Threat joints way back we stayed connected and I was feeling the homie aristo was always trying to get at him to be a west end ryder you know . I was like 14 at the time. I started getting to know aristo more seeing that rich Kidd was banging beats for him the music was nice. One day littles told me he was joining up with some movement showed me the logo then they dropped the first tape at this time I already banged out my first track with littles and Scorsese knew most of the team Cali, c.leon the list is long .So one day I sent littles my first single I wanted to bump asked him I wanted to join the team I bring that heat. He told me he would talk to aristo and the team. A week later I got the phone call from aristo and littles three-way lol and email inviting me to join the team history after that.
C-NOW WE ALL KNOW TEAM OFFENSE HAS A LIL PROBLEM WITH DRAKE. WHERE DO YOU STAND BETWEEN THAT WHOLE THING.
N - Listen If you have a problem with anybody in the Team then you deal with the team as far as me and Drake nah we have no problems nobody on the team does (smile) he has talent but I guess lol some people do have their opinions on what he raps about and lives on road .But that could be anybody. Nobody has brought up the past so we let it lay everybody tries to bring it back up but we should make music.
C-NOW MUSICALLY YOU GOT A PLAN I'M SURE OF IT. YOU WORKED WITH A LOT OF TALENT ACROSS THE BORDER. NAME SOME OF THE RELATIONSHIPS YOU BUILT BEING IN THIS GAME.
N - man I like the across the border thing man I ride with a lot of teams down there riot squad rip my nigga stack, mike baggz , rich dolarz ,pop off gang, young ducatto , a lot more but you know it's a good look for you to get your music out there with the support from your city and others. But ya man a lot of Toronto artist turn into your biggest supporters you know when you start working with them. You'll see on the new tapes the connections that were made in Canada and all over.
